Weekend

Can anyone believe the year A-rod is having, its like every time he comes up to bat you have to expect he will do something amazing. I know it cant last but jeez it is simply amazing. I just hope when the yankees make the playoffs that A-rod and the rest of the yankees keep on thier hot-streak. Plus the yankee organization better keep A-rod around for the next ten years, this guy will be making 30+ million dollars a year, unreal! You got to love professional sports and thier salaries. I understand why pro athletes make all the money that they do, but doesnt anyone think other professionals should be making that kind of money? Especially law inforcement, fire fighters, teachers could be thrown in the mix. I guess that will never change.

So i was watching the opening act of the Video Music Awards on Sunday night. Im not really into that stuff, but i was wondering how brintney spears was going to be. I was hoping that she would light up the stage, show her critics that she was back. But i thought she looked awkward and confused. People were saying she was out of shape, but i think thats a bunch of B.S. I thought she looked unsure of her dance moves and she was probably lip-sinking anyway. I just hope she turns her life around. Its sad to see someone with all the fame and money to just become the butt of all jokes. Shes definitly not perfect but then again who is.

So did anyone go to the Cortland football game on saturday? I tried to, i walked to the stadium around 9ish only to find the game still post-poned. I was soaked but who cares, as Putty from Seinfeld used to say "gotta support the team" right? I heard the game didnt end until 1:30 am. Wow that is a long night for those players. I wonder what goes on in that locker room during all those postponements, i hope they have things to do for the players. What a crazy day, since all day it was beautiful out and it seemed that right at 7 the storms started up.

So on Saturday morning i went to go play golf. Its been a long time since i have played last. probably about 2 months. I'm definitly not that good and need to practice and when i was out the other day it was obvious i stink at golf. So i went out with a female friend of mine, it doesnt help my psychie that she gets to start a good 100 yards closer to the hole. A couple beers on the course helps, but it can only take you so far. So here we are the first hole, a few groups are behind us waiting. One guy even wanted to join us, but we declined. I take a few practice swings kind of get some kinks out of my back. So i square up to the ball, look down the fairway. Its an intimitiating par 5 that hooks to the right. I basically act like i know what im doing. I take my swing and hit the ball, i feel a pain in my left toe. I just shanked the ball off the heal of the club, the ball then hits my big-toe and travels another 20 yards ahead. OUCH! Now talk about embarrassing, all those guys waiting behind me laughing, and asking if i was feelin ok, all i could do is laugh it off but damn that stinks. My friend of course got a good laugh, and so i was able to have a few cold ones to help me make it through the round of golf. Lets just say she shot a 39 and i think i easily doubled that in 9 holes.

I hate the Yankees but I am a big fan of A-Rod; the guy is just incredible. Hopefully at the end of the year A-Rod goes to a team with fans that appreciate his services rather he is doing what he did last year in the playoffs, or having the amazing numbers he does this years. I'm not saying the Yankees do not deserve him themselves--but the fans, that's another story all together.
